Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities. Liberty Hill ISD is committed to providing an educational environment that is free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation for all students, staff, and visitors.
Sexual harassment under Title IX includes unwelcome conduct that is severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive, creating a hostile environment. It can also include quid pro quo harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking.
All students, staff, and members of the community are encouraged to report any incidents of sexual harassment or discrimination to the Title IX Coordinator. Reports can be made in person, by phone, or via email, and can remain confidential. Liberty Hill ISD is dedicated to promptly addressing all Title IX concerns to ensure a safe learning environment.
Reports of discrimination based on sex, including sexual harassment, may be directed to the Title IX coordinator. The District designates the following person to coordinate its efforts to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as amended:

The following information is provided in compliance with 34 C.F.R. Part 106.8 of the 2020 Title IX Regulations, mandating notice of a nondiscrimination policy and the adoption and publication of grievance procedures for the prompt and equitable resolution of student and employee complaints. In accordance with Title IX, Liberty Hill ISD does not, and is required not to, discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs or activities. This requirement extends to employment. As a school district serving students in kindergarten through grade 12, Liberty Hill ISD is not subject to the provisions in Title IX Regulations (Subpart C) that prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in admissions and recruitment. However, the district does not discriminate on the basis of sex in admissions or transfer requests.
Liberty Hill ISD has designated and authorized the following employee as the Title IX Coordinator to address concerns or inquiries regarding discrimination on the basis of sex, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and gender-based harassment:

Any individual may report sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, at any time, including during non-business hours, by mail, phone, or email. During district business hours, reports may also be made in person.

Upon receiving an allegation of sex-based harassment, the Title IX Coordinator will promptly respond in accordance with Liberty Hill ISD Board Policies FFH and DIA. Inquiries about the application of Title IX may be referred to the district’s Title IX Coordinator, to the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights of the Department of Education, or both.
In compliance with the requirements of Title IX, 34 C.F.R. §106.45 (b)(10), Liberty Hill ISD has provided required training to all Title IX personnel, including the District’s Title IX Coordinator(s), Investigator(s), Decision-Maker(s), and Facilitator(s).
